I'm Trying To Forget

Atlas walked sadly, Planet dark and wings drooping as tears dripped down his face, only to freeze against his coat in the cold air. He let out choked sobs as he continued walking, flickers of rage and sadness bursting through his eyes. He didn't bother shaking himself of the snow, he let it cling to his coat as it fell on him.

Jack slid on the ice forming beneath his hooves, and heard sobs in the distance. his ears flickered, and he swiftly trotted over.
Jack paused when he saw the horse had a planet between his wings. A dark planet.
"Hello?" he asked.
I need SOMEONE to talk to, since alot of horses here don't like winter.. And I'm basically invisible to everyone...
Jack shifted his weight uncomfortably, waiting to see if the horse had known he existed.

Atlas quickly looked up, startled at the voice. His eyes fell upon another stallion and Planet glowed slightly as Atlas let a sigh of relief. I may not know who this is, but at least I'm not alone here anymore. He thought to himself. "H-hello..." He let his gaze drop to the ground slowly.

"You can see me?" Jack whispered to himself.
"Tell me, do you believe in JackFrosted? do you hate winter? feel mutual about it?" he started flooding the other horse with questions; looking up hopefully. As Jack let out a sigh, a huge wave of cold air filled the air, only for a brief second.
Suddenly Jack realized, he might be scaring the horse with all his questions.
"I'm sorry, I don't know why I started asking so many questions" he chuckled.

The blue stallion's mind squirmed at all the questions. "I uh, I guess? This is my first time seeing so much snow, it's so pretty...." His voice trailed off as he looked around.

"So, tell me, what do I look like to you?" he grinned.
"and snow, yeah; that's my favorite thing in the whole world" Jack made the snow start falling faster and harder.

Hooves carried the unicorn through sprawling forests. They reverberated mysterious sounds. They made her feel spooked. She ran faster, those rainbow strands of hair a mere blur. Upon finally reaching a vast valley, Huelia came to a stop. Her heart raced and her lungs were bursting with energy. Bright turquoise eyes seemed to flit over everything. She took in the territory, enjoying what she saw. All of the water was very pleasing. Huelia simpled adored the wet aqua.

Her gaze narrowed, homing in on a pair of what appeared to be stallions. She cocked her head in interest. It had been days since she'd seen a horse. Even more drastically, months had passed since being with her own horned kind. Nearing closer, she saw that one of the two was a pegasus with a most strange orbit between the multi-colored wings. Huelia couldn't resist staying away any longer. She moved forward and introduced herself with a friendly, yet cautious voice. "Hello my fellow equines of a fascinating variety. What breed would you boys be?"

Huelia stood tall and proud. She remained a few yards away, providing room for a quick escape if needed. Who knew what would happen if the strangers proved to be dangerous? Keeping an eye on the horse's she continued to observe their surroundings. Beautiful white flakes of snow fell down from the sky. She inhaled deeply and the cold air stung her. It was very refreshing. She returned her full attention to the others and waited patiently for a reply.

Jack slowly turned around, and jumped back when a unicorn with Rainbow hair popped up.
It's not like he wasn't used to seeing these things; it's just that she startled him; appearing so unexpectedly. She spoke in a formal manner, too formal Jack thought. He studied her closely; making sure she was safe to be around. Jack got frustrated with her question, "what breed would you boys be?" she asked them once she had arrived. Wanting an excuse to not need to think and answer like an idiot saying 'no clue, I don't know anything about myself' like an idiot, he just caused the snow to fall heavier and heavier, making the weather colder and colder.

"My breed?" he grumbled. "What's yours?"
Jack snowed the snow a little, still leaving a sharp cold aura around the three horses; he dealt with his frustration by taking it out on others, he found himself not liking this habit, but couldn't help himself. It didn't help knowing that less than a tenth of the world could see you; and so very few could see him as himself.

Jack stared at the ground, his blue eyes shimmering as they moved around, studying every piece of snow he had made, making sure no two were the same.

Atlas flew off, leaving a small cloud trial behind him, Planet covered in hot glowing red lava.

Huelia stifled a sneeze as a swarm of flurries descended upon them. Her ear twitched. It wasn't that the unicorn disliked winter, quite the contrary really. But the coldness wasn't overly great. If the sun was shining brightly the white powder was actually enjoyable. Huelia turned away from it and looked at one of the stallions. He was scowling, and radiated an aura of rudeness.
"I do not appreciate your avoidance of my inquisition," Huelia said briskly. "But I will pass over it as though unnoticed. You may refer to me as Huelia, the unicorn of rainbows. Now, are you going to share your name or am I going to have to figure it out on my own?"
She watched on as the pinto horse examined the snow curiously. He seems rather fascinated by it, she surveyed. "Are you looking for something in the snow?" A sudden movement from the other equine made her jump. The pegasus with that odd globe had taken off without a word. Huelia wondered why he had acted so oddly.

Jack turned to her, wondering if she had actually known who he was, and what he had been doing. Does she recognize me from the old stories that mares would tell thier foals?
"My avoidance with your question, isn't at all rude. Maybe I have things I'd rather be keeping to myself, than blurting out to some rainbow unicorn goddess." he sneered, letting out a frosty huff of snow filled air.
Jack shook, as the other stallion raced away from them, angrily; with a puzzled look on his face, Jack stared at the snowflakes some more; until the mare asked him his name, and if he was looking for something in the snow.
"Figure my name out on your own; If I told you, you'd laugh and call me a liar. Besides, I doubt you even can tell what I look like, from those blind eyes of yours" Jack stared blankly at the snow, he could tell she didn't believe in him.
"Let me know, If you ever start believing in things you would think are fabled" he turned his head away from her, keeping his gaze on the snow below. "Looking for something in the snow? No" frustrated with himself, and the incapability of others, he let the snow fall harder. any moment he wanted, he technically could disappear, but for once he wanted to be able to be believed in; and just stared at the mare with hurt eyes.

Her tail swished. Huelia's temper was slowly but surely rising. Who did this horse think he was? "I am not a goddess! I am a representor for the forms of all colors. However I doubt you can possibly grasp the philosophy stemmed from such ideas. If you declare your alias with a lying tongue, I will indeed laugh. However, a truthful statement earns respect. If you wish not to relay your name that is also fine. Every soul has the right to remain- in a sense -anonymous. But I would appreciate one thing; do not accuse me of being small-minded. You would be surprised if you knew the secrets one conceals.."
She spoke with a calm voice. Although the mare was not happy with the pinto's remarks, she smiled. It wasn't a friendly smile, nor mean. It was simply there.

"Listen up lady, I know what you all think of me! Some hate me, others feel mutual, rare cases like me. You don't know what it's like to NEVER be seen! and I BET I know more about believing and supernatural beings than you EVER will!" he shouted, then smirked. "..Half of Myst probably thinks you're crazy right now; yelling at the snow falling in front of you!" he laughed.
She thinks she's so important, a unicorn representing the rainbow...oooooh so special..
"Chill out" he said, the edges of his mouth curving up into a mischievous smile. Suddenly, the temperature dropped to -35 and the snow fell so heavily, with the harsh winds tearing at it, that it was almost impossible to see 10 feet infront of you.
"I'm Jack; if you must know.." he began.
"JackFrosted"

An instantaneous gust of wind nearly toppled her right over. Huelia's teeth chattered in the cold. Through the snowflake's mass she lost sight of the irritable stallion. She could barely even see her legs! Huelia lowered herself to the ground. Hopefully below the swirling mass of white, she would be more protected. But even here her face was stung with pieces of ice. A few moments passed and the storm was over. Huelia still couldn't find the other horse but she doubted he was gone. A strange feeling told her that he was still here, albeit invisible. The rainbow unicorn began piecing two and two together as the stranger spoke harshly.
Her ears were flat on her head. Her hair was speckled with clumps of snow. Those bright blue eyes' excitement was drained, closed. "I believe you," Huelia said quietly. It was difficult to understand completely, that she was in the presence of the Jack Frosted, the spirit and solid representation of winter. A small part of the mare was in awe, the other parts too cold to think. "I- I am in humility at your h-hooves, O Powerful One." Her voice shook. It was difficult to separate the fear and respect from the shaking of her freeze. Slowly, Huelia lifted her gaze. Above her stood tall and might, Jack. Almost immediately she lowered her head again in submission. If Huelia had known whom the stallion was at first, she'd never have approached him. All beings of power knew that the spirit of the coldest season was dangerous, and extremely so. It wasn't just that he could control the fiercest storms, but also those easily inflamed emotions. It was impossible to tell what Jack felt, he was always changing.

"Don't be submissive to me!" he shouted, the snow stopped immediately, and a warm winter sun tore through the clouds above them. "Besides, I'm hardly of any importance in these horses eyes.." he sighed, wondering If she still saw him as the painted horse, or the frosty white and blue horse.
"And don't be scared.." he nudged her, as if encouraging her to stand up. "I get mad easily, it's tough you know?" he glared into her eyes; his eyes shook, light bouncing off of the icy blue center. "Hard when almost nobody can see you..." he stared down, and tapped the snow with his hoof, creating a small pattern of frost in the shape of a butterfly, and others in the shape of flowers. "You know? when this is all they care about.." he smacked the ground with his leg, crackling the frost.
"Especially when I work so hard on my winters, only to come here and be dis-respected; and unwanted" his voice shook, and so did he; not believing he actually had someone to admit his sheer loneliness to. "It's hard getting by all alone" Jack stared into her eyes.
"I'm surprised you didn't ask me for proof!" he laughed; if you do want proof, here," and he let out a puff, not air, but snow and frost; it covered the ground below him; and in front of Huelia.
"Oh, thank you for believing" he smiled

Atlas watched the two horses talk as he sat upon a cloud, sparks of fire shooting from the tips of his wings and surrounding Planet, melting any snow that came near. His ears flattened to his neck as he watched the new unicorn, who acted and talked like she was all that existed. "Brat." He spat out, irritated.

Huelia backed up, scared. Jack terrified her. His ways were too different than what she was accustomed to. He spoke in the simple modern tongue, for one, which made the unicorn uncomfortable. And his absolute frame of mind set her off. Huelia stayed mute as the winter horse ranted on about the faithless and unbelieving. She had nothing to contribute. But Jack's expectant gaze made her speak up. "We can agree on one thing, I suppose. To remain alone is indeed arduous. Therefore us beings of nature need to go out of our way to intertwine our lives. On a rare stroke of destiny, you and I have connected. I only wish it shall be peaceful." Huelia's tone wavered. She knew Jack understood what she meant, by magical spirits having trouble coping with each other. It was impossible for Water to be best friends with Fire, as the same for Helios the Sun and Moon. But perhaps the rainbow and winter could cooperate.
"Why would I need proof?" Huelia continued. "You have already demonstrated on your own free will of having powers only a true magical soul could produce...In the meantime, I can see you have much to do in preparation for your season. I will leave you now. Perhaps we will meet again in these lands you have called Myst."

She turned and disappeared in the snow storm, in search of a herd. Whether or not happiness would be found she did not know. But if all was gloomy and depressing, Huelia would stay until the traces of love was retrieved from the deepest roots of their hearts, for she was the rainbow, the bringer of hope.

Jack stepped back, as the mare started walking away.
"Hey!" he called out to her, "don't go..please!" his tone sounded childish; and he looked at her with pleading eyes. "I have nobody else" he stomped his leg down hard, and a huge gust of wind swept across. "I don't want to be alone anymore!" he stared directly into her eyes; the crystal blue of his shimmering intensely in the odd lighting and then they watered up.

Jack shifted his weight around; not like i'm falling for her... am I? Jack wasn't sure anymore. He suddenly ran in front of her, determined.
"Don't leave, yet!" he called out. "Please" and gazed into her eyes, waiting for a response.

The stallion's protests made Huelia falter. His strange stares seemed to freeze her insides. "We will meet again, if destiny allows," she said cooly. "But for now we must part ways. Farewell, Jack Frosted."
