Subject: As Long As The World Keeps Spinning. Sat 8 Sep 2012 - 20:49

Seeker had just been accepted into the territory. He was alone again, wandering, searching for horses. Or someone to spend life with. The stallion didn't really know, he was just a wanderer. He had always been known as exactly that, The Wanderer. He had been told once, his name was once something better. Seeker. The horse who sought for everything and got nothing. Telling himself to shut up, Seeker comes to a ~~small~~ rather large puddle. He lowers his head and drinks from the first water source he had seen for a while.

_{Dutchess stands far off, watching the new comer have a drink. She was going to wait until he was done before she approached him.

She started to walk up to him as he raised his head from the puddle.
"Hello, my name is Dutchess" she said, her voice soft and welcoming. "What is your name?"
Her forelock covered her eyes so she gave it a small flick. This horse looked so normal, unlike her, or Rex or Layka. They were the only other horses that she knew, and right now, she hated them. She gave the new comer a small smile.}

"Hello, what is your name?" He hears, and lifts his head. Seeker looks at the mare. She looked different from any other horse he had seen, but so had that other horse, Rex, he met earlier. "Seeker" The stallion whinnies, swishing his tail slightly.

_{Seeker "Welcome to the region Seeker." She stood there awkwardly, her pink mane flying the the breeze. She didn't know what to say. "Uhh... Have you had a look around the region yet?" she asked him, trying to break the silence. Why was this so hard for her? Why couldn't she even get the words out? Hi, would you like to go for a tour of the region. I would love to take you around. It wasn't that hard.

She shifted her weight, hoping that he would talk more so that she didn't have to.}

Seeker shakes his head, his mane being tossed a bit as a result. He straightens up a bit. A tour. "No, I haven't gotten one. Would you be willing to show me around?" He asks, flicking his ears.

_{So he hadn't been around the region yet. 'Will you be willing to show me around?' he asked her.
"Sure" she mumbled, really nervous now. She didn't want to see Rex or Layka while she was showing Seeker the region.

She walked off, looking behind her to see if Seeker was following. She took him to her favourite place in the region, the grotto. This is where Layka had taken her when Rex refused. She loved it up here. Tears started to form in her eyes and started running down her face. "I'm sorry" she mumbled to seeker. Sort your stuff out Dutchess. You lost to Layka and there is nothing you can do but move on with your life. Cut it out right now she told herself. She stopped crying and looked back at Seeker. "I am sorry about that" she said. "This place bring up memories, that's all"

The colourful leaves scattered the ground, making it feel warm. "This is my favourite place in the region"
Well it was
She gave Seeker a small smile and looked out towards the hills.}

Seeker follows her, his head bobbing every time he walked. His head rose and looked at the surrounding hills, and he stops at her side. He didn't see what happened with her, but heard her say that she was sorry, that this place brought up memories. "That's alright, I understand. At any rate, it's great up here" Seeker whinnies, his mane blowing slightly in the breeze.

_{She just gave him a small nod. She was looking out over the region when she saw Rex making his way up the hill.You can't be serious can you?

He got to the top of the hill. Dutchess just looked at him. "Uh.... Hi Rex" she mumbled now looking at the ground. Tears were forming in her eyes again. This must have been how Layka felt when he left her for me.
She let the tears fall to the ground, and she refused to look up at him. "How's Layka?" she managed to get out,}

Seeker steps back. He looks at Rex, then the mare. He still didn't have her name, but there was another. Layka. The stallion keeps quiet.

After all the words he and Layka had exchanged over foals, Rex was feeling pretty frazzled. To work off some of the stress, he decided to go for a trot up a small mountain in the area.
Children.. I can't believe Layka wants some already! I mean, really?! We only just got together. Women.. He mulled over the conversations he'd had in the past day. Rex put a burst of speed and looked up to see (guess who?) Dutchess.

"Oh great," he muttered. Eyes ranging over the rest of the ground, he saw that the new stallion, Seeker, his name was?, was standing nearby as well. "Hello," Rex said.
"Um.. Hi Rex" Dutchess uttered out, obviously uncomfortable. Her eyelids twitched, salty liquid invading her eyes. "How is Layka?"
Rex felt distressed and took a step backward from the emotional mare. "She's alright, I guess. She misses you." As soon as he said it, Rex wanted to take back the 'misses you' part. Ugh, now she's probably doing to start bawling!

Knowing that is would be wise to change the subject, he said to Seeker, "So, um, how are you Seeker?"

'She misses you' Oh great! I'm pretty sure that she is probably happy that I am all alone. That she got what she wanted. She couldn't stop the tears now. She just walked away from him, letting Seeker talk to him. She wanted NOTHING to do with him anymore.}

Seeker looks at the mare leave, then at Rex. "I am good. A bit lonely is all, being new to the area is hard for me, since I don't like change." He says. The mare that was giving me that tour didn't seem to like him very much. Or just had a bad past with him. Memories. Had something happened here?

Layka wanted so badly, to follow Rex, but she stayed put.
He wouldn't mind If I followed at a distance...
She slowly followed behind him
"Shoot. why am I doing this, I should leave him alone." She stopped and returned to the forest.
She waited there for about ten minutes, before finally deciding to get out and do something today
She galloped toward the grotto where Rex had taken her, and she took Dutchess.
Whilst standing ontop the huge hill, Layka saw Dutchess and stopped dead in her tracks.
She skidded down the edge of the steep hill, and flat into the water, creating a huge splash soaking everyone.
Feeling humiliated, she stood up anyway, and saw Rex too.
She looked around sheepishly.
"I don't suggest galloping full speed up a hill and then attempting to skid when you can't stop your legs" she joked.

_{Urgh, Layka's here too! Is this day going to get any worse?
She smiled slightly when Layka went flying into the water.
"Layka" she said, her voice cold. She was just acknowledging her presence.
She turned to Seeker. "Do you want to carry on?" she asked him, wanting to get away from Rex and Layka. She started back down the hill without waiting for Seeker to answer. She was leaving no matter what.
I should have know that she would have been with him. You should have left when he got here. Why are you so pathetic, you are so ugly, nobody will ever love you. She kept putting herself down like this the whole way down the hill. She went back to 'her' cave and sat in the darkest corner. "You will never perfect. You will be alone forever. Why are you even on this earth?" she said to herself. She cried even more, leaving wet patches on the ground.

She had no one. What was the point of even being here anymore?}

Layka saw Dutchess get out of the scene in a hurry, she looked sad, angry, and full of emotions.
Layka couldn't help but feel horrible, had she done this to Dutchess?
She followed Dutchess, to the cave she and Rex used to share, and saw her crying.
She slowly stepped in,
"Dutchess.." she started,
"I am so sorry. I didn't mean for any of this to happen, but If it makes you feel better, I think Rex still wants you more.. He still talks about you alot, and the look in his eyes-" she stopped talking, for she felt as though she were to cry now.
"He still loves you." she said finally.
"I don't know why I did what I did to you, you were my best friend and I didn't mean to hurt you" Layka resumed talking.
"He doesn't think I'll be a good mother" she frowned and looked down
"I know he thought of you when I mentioned a foal, I saw it in his eyes, he never thinks of me with that look" She felt a single tear trickle down her face.
"Dutchess I want so badly, to still be friends with you, I don't want to be enemies, I really do want to be friends"
I should just let the two be together, because neither of them trust me, and I know they both still love each other so much more than they show. Rex doesn't look at me the way he looks at Dutchess, that smile, so contented and goofy- he doesn't smile like that around me...
"I never meant to hurt anyone"

_{She heard someone call her name. She looked up to see Layka. She just turned away. She didn't want to look at her.'He still wants you more' Ha Why on earth would he want me? He had me and left me in a pile on the floor. I'm ugly. Shes just little miss perfect.
When she brought up that she mentioned having a foal, she lifted her head. Rex thought of her when she said that.
"Well I'm sorry about that" she mumbled.

"Listen we were friends, I thought we were anyway. But you just went and cut me up and left me lying in a heap on the ground! Just go" she said. "I don't care anymore" she managed to spit out between her sobs. "I don't care about anything! About Rex or YOU!" she yelled.
She got up and galloped out of the cave.
Because this is what you wanted all along! Little Miss Perfect
She collapsed on the ground by a tree. "You are ugly Dutchess. Nobody will ever want you! YOU ARE NOTHING BUT UGLY!" she screamed to herself.}

Layka stood, stunned, as Dutchess had ran out the cave.
"Duchess-I-I'm sorry.." she stammered.
She watched as Dutchess galloped off to a tree, and started yelling.
"I don't want that anymore" Layka screamed, she stomped down onto the rocks, hard.
She lifted her leg up in pain, the rocks were hard and hurt her.
"I don't want everyone to suffer because of me!" She was screaming louder, and louder by the words.
"everyone, absolutely everyone," she muttered
"who said I was-" she broke off her sentence and fell down
"who said I was a monster..they were right" she layed down for a while staring at the ground.
After about an hour or so, she set off toward the big mountain, that day with Rex, so wonderful, but then it twisted around.. 'this is the best day of my life' the words had run through her head, over and over.
I cannot say how sorry I am. I cannot fix what I've messed up, It is my fault. It will always be so.
She layed on the edge of the rocky hill, overlooking into vast forests of the Shadow Territory.

"If I cried a thousand tears, one for each mistake. One for every promise broken- One for every soul I've ruined. I still wouldn't have cried enough"

_{Now Layka was yelling too.
I hate her, and to think, that just a week ago we were friend, and I had someone amazing. Not anymore. Why did she ever have to come into my life. I could have been so happy, but no! She always set out for me to be miserable! She thought! "Well you got it!" she screamed. She got up and walked off to get a drink. She was still crying. She didn't even know that it was possible to cry this much. She approached the lake and realized that she was standing by Layka's old spot under the oak tree. She took a drink and then looked at her reflection. Her pink mane was covered in mud. You are ugly and there is nothing you can do about it. You should have never have been born, you are useless! she told herself this over and over again. She slowly walked into the lake, washing the mud out of her hair. It was cold, ice cold, like one of Layka's stares.

She started walking along the rocky path toward the hill. In the distance she spotted Layka laying on the edge. Why is she everywhere that I go! Why can I not be alone so that I can hate her!
Dutchess was jealous of everything Layka had. She was pretty, she had the power to win any other horse and she had Rex. She was perfect.
"Why are you here?" she asked coldly. "Oh and just so you know, you would make a great mum." she mumbled.
Why am I saying this! I hate her!}

Layka whipped her head around, in the sound of Dutchess' voice.
"I come here to regret." she said sadly, her voice full of misery and gloom.
"I come here to regret what I have done, I come here to apologize" She looked up at Dutchess, her eyes pleading.
She got up and stood in front of Dutchess, looked her in the eyes and said, "I don't know why I do what I do, but Dutchess, you are lucky, you don't have the guilt of a thousand souls, pounding on your chest, Ripping at your heart, tearing at the very seams of life." she glanced into space
"You have nothing to be guilty of. I have so much, so much hurting me, mentally, and physically" she glanced down
"I can barely walk sometimes, My heart pounds so hard, I forget who I am. Those are the good times. The good times where I can forget, But afterwards, memories come flooding in, cursing me" she felt lightheaded.
"The memories haunt me every day, every minute, every second" she closed her eyes tight
"It hurts to blink, because they come back stronger, the memories-they come" she opened her eyes again.
"You have no idea, how hard I try to be perfect, You cannot imagine what I go through.." she stared icily at the ground.
"You would never be able to endure the pain of thousands of souls ripping your heart open, scratching at your mind..you think you have it hard" she ended her sentence there and looked at Dutchess once more, with pleading eyes.
"Help me" she whispered

_{She listened to what Layka had to say, to every word of it.
'Help me' she said. Laykas eyes were pleading, begging fro help.
"Ha, what makes you think that I would help you. You 'ruined' my life! I have nothing! I am ugly!" she said with a horrible tone. "You may regret what you did but it doesn't mean that you can take it back! I guess I am just going to be another soul pounding your chest, because you aren't getting ANY sympathy from me" she said angrily.
"I hate you" she yelled at her before storming off. She climbed back up the hill where Rex and Seeker were standing. She doubted that Layka would follow her back up the hill.

She approached Rex. "You better you check on your little 'princess'. I think she might need a friend." she said angrily. She went and stood next to Seeker. "Do you want to go?"}

Layka stared at Dutchess, who didn't care about anything she had to say.
"If I were to jump, would you care" she said to Dutchess, while standing at the edge of the cliff looking down.
"If I were to die, how would you deal with the guilt" Layka asked.
"You wouldn't like the ripping at your soul, eating you inside out" she said
"Tell me, what If I jumped off of this cliff Dutchess, would you care." she repeated
If I were to jump, of course she wouldn't care..I could see her now, with a smug look on her face
Layka took a step closer toward the edge. A few rocks crumbled beneath her hooves.
If I were to jump, I would soar like an eagle, because I, do not give up

"I doubt that you would jump, not after everything you went to to get Rex. Wouldn't want to leave him alone would you? she said in a sarcastic tone. "Go ahead, jump, See if I care!" she yelled at her. "It would just mean that there was one less horrible horse in this world"
In reality, Dutchess would probably jump to try and save Layka. She wouldn't really want that to happen to her. She was just so angry at her, she couldn't control what came out of her mouth. Do I say don't?

"Just don't do it Layka" she said, submitting to what her mind was telling her.}

Layka turned around, and stood still.
"I'm sorry for causing drama..you are right, one less horrible horse in the world" she said crying
She walked down the mountain, down to her big tree, full of wilted flowers. This tree had been through so much with her and she loved it.
"Should I let Dutchess have Rex?" she asked herself aloud.
"Will I just keep ruining everything for everyone?"
"Maybe I should just leave and never come back" she shouted
A harsh gust of wind forced itself across the land, and had refreshed Layka's mind.
She decided to just act as though nothing had happened, because she didn't want to upset Rex.
Layka galloped back towards where she left him and trotted up to him, and nuzzled him. She was so glad to be around him, she trusted him, and loved him.
"Hello Rex" she said, in a sing-song voice
"How was your day?" she asked

Seeker looks around at the mare coming and going. He assumes her name is Dutchess, as he heard it used by the mare known as Layka. He sighs, snorting at the same time. I'm tired of this. Wandering-oh there's that word again- to every place I've ever known and having the same thing happening. Starting to meet horses, then they come up with their own problems and start forgetting about me, slowly but surely. Seeker turns around, cantering at a steady pace down the hill. He comes to where the tour began, to the puddle. My puddle.

_{She followed Seeker back down the hill. She was sick of the hill. "Seeker" she called out to him. "Wait up!"
Cantering up beside him, she asked him "Why did you run off like that? I'm really sorry I did. I just had really bad experiences with those two recently and I wasn't ready to face it." She looked at him. He was back at the puddle where they had first met. "I can tell you about it if you want, but I don't think you want to know about my horrific love life" she muttered. Why is this so god damn hard?
"My name is Dutchess by the way, I don't think I told you my name" she said laughing, trying to hide the pain from her encounter with Rex and Layka. She threatened to jump off a cliff! Who does that! Her life is fine, if anything, that should be me!}
